The last post I wrote was about our adoption yardsale fundraiser. It turned out AWESOME!! We ended up raising just over $2,000, thanks in large part to all of the items we got donated to us. I would definitely recommend doing one if you are trying to raise money for an adoption. Here are a few picks of how it turned out.
It was such a roller coaster. Finally, the second week of October she told me that she was going to do the adoption. We were excited but cautious. She was due the second week of December so we had a little ways to go.
Everything was going great, her and I had really bonded, we got together at least once a week and were really getting to know each other. They were doing the adoption all the way up until delivery. Unfortunately, as we were at home waiting to be called up to the hospital we were told she had changed her mind.
It was really hard to go through yet another loss, this would make 5 biological babies and now a failed adoption. Chase and I rallied through and are ready to start again.
The private adoption had kind of fallen into our laps quickly. We decided to pursue going through an agency. Part of us wants to do a private adoption because of the cost, but I'm really excited to start working with an agency. It feels so much more proactive to finding a birth mom.
After lots of research we are going to use Lifeline Children's Services. So far we've filled out our application and are waiting to schedule our orientation meeting. I got a call from the social worker assigned to us today and just have to work out our schedules.
We have been praying daily for God's guidance through this process, and feel like we are following His plan for us.
That's where we're at for now. I'm going to do better about updates because I want to be able to look back on our journey. Follow along to see where God leads us!
